GZU 2025 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship of Guizhou University, a part of the “International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Program” sponsored by the Center for Language Education And Cooperation (CLEC), provides full or partial scholarship to support outstanding international students, scholars and Chinese Language teachers to pursue their studies in “International Chinese Language Education”、“Chinese Language and Literature”、“Chinese Language Study” and “Tai Chi” at Guizhou University.

Ⅰ.Eligibility

All applicants shall be:1.Non-Chinese citizens;2.Should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school;3.In good physical and mental conditions, and with a good record of academic performance and conduct;4.Aspiring to work in the Chinese language education and related fields;5.Aged between 16 and 35 ( as of 1 September, 2025), with the special allowance for the age limit of 45 for applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers.

Ⅱ.Scholarship Coverage

1.Free registration and tuition fees;2.Free on-campus dormitory accommodation (typically double rooms);3.Comprehensive Medical Insurance & Protection Scheme;4.Living allowance standard is as follows: CNY 3,000 for Master’ s Degree Students, CNY 2,500 for One-Academic-Year students and One-Semester students.

Ⅲ.Scholarship Categories and Qualifications.

Ⅳ.Application and Enrollment

1.March 1-May 15, 2025, for programs starting in September of 2025;March 1-October 31, 2025, for programs starting in March of 2026.

2.Online registration on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship application website (http://www.chinese.cn) and International Student Management System(http://gzu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx). Applicants shall set up an individual account, fill in the Scholarship Application Form truly, accurately and completely, upload the required documents, and submit the Application Form before 15 May, 2025 (for programs commencing in September of 2025), or before 31 October, 2025 (for programs commencing in March of 2026).

Required application materials:

(1) Digital photo;

(2) Scanned copy of valid passport photo page;

(3) Scanned copy of HSK and HSKK result reports (valid for 2 years);

(4) A reference letter by the head of the Recommending Institution. In-service Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer;

(5) A certificate of the highest diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript;

(6) Applicants of the Scholarship for a Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education are required to provide two reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an employment contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China;

(7) Scanned copy of personal signature;

(8) Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit avalid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued with in 6 months prior to the submission date of the application (only upload to the International Student Management System of Guizhou University);

(9) Foreigner Physical Examination Report (valid for 6 months; only upload to the International Student Management System of Guizhou University).

Note:

  • Applicants who apply to study at Guizhou University should choose Guizhou University as their first choice of host institution;
  • It is suggested that all the application documents be prepared under the guidance of your recommending institution and confirm the information of the scholarship category, study duration, major and the host institution before your submitting online;
  • Degree students are subject to the annual assessment.

3.After submitting the applications and uploading relevant supporting documents online, applicants should request their recommending institutions to approve their applications in the Scholarship System, and then the applications will be forwarded to Guizhou University and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) for further evaluations.

4.Applicants and recommending institutions must apply for the proper major while assure the corresponding HSK result report(including the HSKK result report) before submission. Applicants under 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.

5.It will take approximately one month to process the subsequent scholarship review., applicants should pay attention to the application status and remarks in the Scholarship System.
